FREDDIE ROACH “Brown Sugar” RVG, P, DG, Blue Note BST 84168 Stereo Vinyl

This is the first edition, 1964, “VAN GELDER" stamped, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of FREDDIE ROACH’s “Brown Sugar” on the "New York" labels of Blue Note BST 84168. Musicians include Freddie Roach – organ, Joe Henderson - tenor saxophone, Eddie Wright – guitar, Clarence Johnston - drums.

VINYL plays with light surface noise, with infrequent pops and ticks. Surface noise most noticeable on Side 2, #1, a ballad. Ensemble sections are dynamic and strong, clear, clean and powerful. No Skips. No locked grooves. No distortion. Good Gloss. Many hairline marks, none feelable.  (If you can't feel it you won't hear it). The Deep Groove (one side) “New York” labels are clean with much spindle wear under direct light. See photos.

COVER is in good shape, corners worn. Some ringwear, one-inch crease/wrinkle lower right corner. Seams show much wear, 1” split top and bottom at opening. Spine is worn but solid. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23" back jacket show stains. “4.59” in ink. Please see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC AUDIO DESK SYSTEME VINYL PRO CLEANER.
