This record is in excellent condition. It has a handful of spindle marks visible on the labels but there are no pen marks, stains or scuffs anywhere. There is only very mild wear to the centres and they are not loose or worn. Overall the iconic blue Columbia labels are clean, bright and free of major marks and have just a small cluster of spindle marks as mentioned.
As for the vinyl itself, both sides are free from anything really serious and overall are very clean with a lovely lustre. There is however one small 8mm line that looks very minor but can just about be felt. This is towards the end of track 1 and into track 2. Other than this there is nothing remotely sinister with just a few faint hairlines, a single 'smudge' and some faint manufacturing whiskers. Overall for a record of 52 years old it is in excellent condition. It has a vivid lustre and on the whole is very clean.
I play tested the record and it played really well and produced very enjoyable audio of great clarity throughout. It lays flat, there is next to no movement in the record arm and the sound produced is excellent with minimal amounts of surface noise or interference audible. There were of course no skips or sticks and no pops. I did however hear 4 ticks towards the end of track 1. There is also some audible between tracks 1 and 2 but these are light and cannot be heard once the audio begins. These issues are caused by the small mark mentioned(and photographed) above. Other than this very brief period of interference the album plays wonderfully. It has minimal amounts of surface noise in the run in and between tracks with the audio crisp, clear and showing no distortion. Overall although it has the 4 ticks as mentioned in track 1 the audio as a whole was superb and it was a great listen.
The front laminated sleeve is in excellent condition. It has only very light wear and rubbing to the edges and corners(pics) with the writing along the spine all still clearly legible. There are no splits, tears or scuffs anywhere but there is a small pen mark on the rear in the top right corner(old price). There is also some age related grubbiness to the rear with a few areas of light staining evident. There is no major ring marks or creasing however and the front is clean and bright. Overall for its age the sleeve is excellent with no major issues but the mild amount of discolouring to the rear as mentioned. I have tried to describe the sleeve as best I can but please study the pictures provided to gain as much information as possible as to its condition.
It contains its original 'Use Emitex' rice paper-lined inner which is in very good condition. There are no tears or pen marks but it does have some age related grubbiness, creasing and a 2.5" split to left edge. I will therefore send the record in a brand new plain white replacement.
The record will be packaged in cardboard stiffeners and bubble wrapped thoroughly when dispatched. It will also be sent in a brand new protective plastic sleeve, and within 24hrs of receiving payment to try to ensure a swift delivery.
