on the original silver-on-black KING RECORDS label 777 'HI-FI'
Here's a great soulful blues record! I have had this album for several years, and was lucky to find this in the US, and not battered either!
It 'should' be a party-album really, as the music swings with a cool up-tempo sound from these three blues singers and players.
Amazingly, it is exceptionally rare, and took me a long time to turn up.
It showcases all three artists, across the 12 tracks, and they obviously got along well! The delivery is seamless, and the musicians all gel magnificently. The capable Freddy/Freddie King takes a few vocals as well as his duties playing EXCELLENT guitar-work!
For collectors of these artists, or blues in general - already a VERY RARE record!
For completists, don't overlook or under-estimate this opportunity to secure a fine gem.
For KING label collectors, you'll look hard and long for another to turn up - it's one of the toughest on the label.
The DISC is visually in BEAUTIFUL shape, EXCELLENT to NEAR MINT-. Just a couple of very light marks visible, under very close inspection under bright light. However - perfectionists take note; KING didn't always make the best pressings, and these IS an invisible flaw somehow on Side 2, making a 'swish' of crackle particularly at the start. This reduces as the needle progresses, but for THIS reason, I have to lower the grade for Side 2.
The silver on black LABELS are in TOP condition, showing little sign of much playing.
The COVER is flat and sturdy, and really nice and clean. The seams have very sparse signs of any wear, and are fully intact except for 1" at bottom opening edge. I haven't kept the disc inside the cover (rarely ever do), and have kept it outside to maintain the cover from avoidable wear.
Naturally this will be packaged extremely carefully, though I will insist that there shall be insurance on it.
