FREE "FIRE AND WATER"
AN EXCELLENT RECORD AND EXCELLENT SLEEVE.
RARE PINK ISLAND WHITE i , FIRST PRESSING, ILPS 9120. IN STEREO.
RELEASED IN 1970.
First Pressing Matrix Numbers ILPS 9120 side1: A-1 followed by 1 1 2 , and side2: B1 followd by 1 1 4
An Outstanding and Exceptional Album from Free, amazingly almost 40 years old!!!.
The Record is in excellent condition. The Labels are excellent, original Pink Island "white i" label. Both Labels are very clean and show minimal signs of any spindle marking and there is no wear to the centre holes. No writing on the labels. The white marks seen on side 2 are NOT tear marks to the label, appears to be residue from the label white ink print. Labels in Excellent condition.
The record plays extremely well, virtually no background noise, only very slight to run ins where needle has dropped as is common, and very slight on the very quietest parts, overall a fabulous record.
The Vinyl surface is excellent, very clean and has an excellent sheen, wonderful thick 60's Isalnd vinyl, Superb vinyl.!! The record plays through very well. Only very few of the very feintest of visible surface marks are noticable and then only when viewed under a very strong light, as is normally the case with older and played records, the only blemish is a tiny pin prick mark towardes the end of "Fire and Water" which when listening very carefully offers a very minor distortion, otherwise totally unnoticable and other than this the record is perfect. Overall in excellent condition and the record plays extremely well on both sides.
The Sleeve is in very good condition, thin card with a Full Matt Finish Sleeve, minimum signs of any wear, light edge wear through storage only. There are No nasty creases, No tears, No writing, No tear marks or rips. Some very light creasing visible around record outline. The opening edges are sharp and show only minor signs of wear. The thin spine is rigid, some surface wear, crease free, most of the text is still intact. Original Sleeve printed and made by the MacNeil Press Ltd.
Record comes complete with the Original Poly-lined Paper Inner Sleeve which warns of the "dangers of suffocation".
Rare Island Record, and no doubt getting harder to find in excellent condition, !!
Record will be posted in fully protective packaging.
