“Tons of Sobs” was Free’s debut album and essentially represented their live set at the time. Album was recorded over a five day period in October 1968 on a budget of £800. Release of album delayed until March 1969 when live favourite “The Hunter” thankfully replaced “Visions Of Hell”. 8 of the 10 tracks were original compositions with Paul Rodgers taking the majority of the songwriting credits.

A stunning debut album although virtually ignored at the time, hence early pink island pressings are increasingly scarce nowadays.
