FRENCH LICK : Glider LP (Fric Frac [USA] JP-FL-2-77) 1976.
Record is excellent with minimal light sleeve scuffs only. The cover has had the front and back slicks attached with clear tape on all the edges. As noted in Acid Archives (see below), some copies were issued with blank covers and the front and back slicks (or sometimes just the front, apparently) included as inserts. Obviously that was the case with this copy, and they were attached by the original owner with tape. The tape job is fairly neat but it's a little discolored in spots, as expected given the age of the LP. The cover looks fine otherwise. With insert (excellent).

"'Glider' is a smorgasbord of 70s prog and AOR clichés, but they're assembled in a rather likeable way, as is the case with, say, Oz Knozz, though this isn't nearly as heavy. There are plenty of synths here, high male vocals, tempo shifts, and funky rhythms. Each side ends with a lengthy three-part suite. There's also an acoustic ballad, some obvious Yes influences, and a ridiculous synth instrumental that brings to mind 70s moog novelties like 'Popcorn.' All of it is very well-played and sung; they have a good youthful spirit and enough ideas for two albums. Not all of the experiments work, and the instrumental suite on side one falls a little flat, but if you’re inclined to like this kind of album it’s recommended. I don’t expect it to convert skeptics, though. Pick hit: 'Talk About Love,' which has backwards drum bits and a haunting hook/melody line. Some copies of this album came with the cover already pasted on while others came in a white sleeve with front and back cover both included as inserts."
