Album Notes
This fifth studio album from the Scottish indie rockers is their second for Atlantic, following 2013's U.K. Top Ten hit Pedestrian Verse, and their first without guitarist Gordon Skene, who left the band in 2014 over musical differences. He was permanently replaced by touring member Simon Liddell. Having satisfied his desire to continue writing solo with his Owl John project, frontman Scott Hutchison and the band here continue with the more collaborative approach they took on the Pedestrian Verse. Produced in New York by the National's Aaron Dessner, the album includes the elegiac single "Death Dream." ~ John D. Buchanan
