This is a VERY rare, mint condition test pressing for the Faith/Void split LP. Dischord Records No. 8, Washington, DC, September 1982. This was the first record for both Faith and Void. Faith was a band from Washington, DC consisting of Alec MacKaye on vocals, Michael Hampton on guitar, Chris Bald on bass, and Ivor Hanson on drums. After Faith broke up, Alec played in Ignition, and The Warmers. Michael, Chris and Ivor joined Alec's brother Ian to form Embrace, considered to be one of the first "emo" bands. Chris played in Ignition and Chris Bald 96. Michael played in One Last Wish, and Michael and Ivor played in Manifesto. Void were an amazing hardcore band from Columbia, Maryland (between DC and Baltimore), who always sounded just slightly out of control. Void consisted of John Weiffenbach on vocals, Bubba Dupree on guitar, Chris Stover on bass, and Sean Finnegan on drums. Very sad recent news is that of Sean Finnegan's untimely death. He was a nice guy and a great, crazy drummer. He will definitely be missed.........DESCRIPTION: This test pressing was one of only 50 made, intended for band members, radio stations and fanzines. Vinyl record has Faith and Void labels (xeroxed from a record plant printing proof) crudely cut out and glued in place. Vinyl is in white paper sleeve which has yellowed a bit with age. Record and paper sleeve are inside nice, thick white cardboard sleeve from Nashville Record Productions. Glued onto the front of it is a xerox of the Faith/Void ad Dischord sent out to its mailorder customers. All xeroxes mentioned here were copied and affixed in 1982. On back cover, there is slight offset of xerox toner from the same Faith/Void ad on another copy of test pressing, from when a bunch of test pressings were stacked up to dry...... CONDITION/PROVENANCE: Record is in mint condition, and has never been played. It comes from the punk archives of Jeff Nelson (Minor Threat/Void), which are being downsized after having been described as "too big" and "insane."
