Description
SAVOY 9019 Fats Navarro, trumpet on all 6 tracks. 4 tracks also include Charlie Rouse, tenor sax; Tadd Dameron, piano; Art Blakey, drums; Nelson Boyd, bass. 2 tracks also include Ernie Henry, alto sax; Dameron, piano; Curley Russell, bass; Kenny Clarke, drums. All recorded in 1947 in NYC. Very rare issue.
Cover: VG++ Intact and clean. Light aging on the back cover with some foxing along the edges.
Record: VG+ Visually shows no wear. There are some " shadow" lines in the vinyl. They are very light and in the pressing. Not caused by wear or handling. There are some light crackles on the first track on each side. Also, a few short intervals of light groove noise elsewhere. The music can be heard clearly throughout. This is a very early 10" L.P. issue. The noise as described is not uncommon for these pressings, I have graded the record according to the sound but very likely this is the original sound and the interference described is in the original pressing. Audibly checked.
