Fela Kuti - Vinyl Box Set 5 (2020)
Incredibly rare, one of only 10 sets pressed for pre-release review.
These edits are EXCLUSIVE to these test pressings and will not appear on any other release ever.
They were rejected - not due to fidelity issues but due to compatibility issues. The original Nigerian releases had very hot sibilance and vocal segments, and these edits preserve them. In fact they are BETTER than the released versions because they are more authentic. They more accurately reflect the original mixes even though they had many peaks and loud segements... you will NEED a pretty good quality stylus to track these accurately, just like the originals.
All vinyls are practically mint, maybe played once, maybe not can't quite remember... certainly none all the way through.
I was the audio restoration engineer in charge of the project and I can safely say you won't be disappointed (although note the warning you'll need a good pick-up!).
Other owners of these pressings, all nine of them, are unlikely to be selling any time soon so this is a VERY rare cance to pick up an almost unrepeatable rarity.
