Description

Jimmie Dale & The Flatlanders - "Dallas" (same MONO/STEREO) (Plantation PL-92), 1972.  Promo label.

This is the ONLY piece of vinyl ever released by The Flatlanders -- Jimmy Dale Gilmore, Joe Ely & Butch Hancock -- this recording of the song that has since become somewhat of a Texas music classic and a staple of live shows by the band members and the collective group, both, was a commercial failure and Plantation Records owner Shelby Singleton decided to drop the band from his label.  This was the only release on vinyl as he released their album, All American Music, only on an extremely small run of 8-track tapes simply to fulfill contractual obligations to the band.  To call this record the Holy Grail of Texas Country and Americana is obvious hyperbole but not too darned far from accurate.  When's the next time you're gonna see a copy up for sale?  Get it while you can.

Record is Near Mint.  Very tiny label tear on STEREO side (see photo).
