Description

  • Title: Flatt & Scruggs Columbia 21412 78 RPM "Before I Met You" 1955 Bluegrass - Visual G/VG Description:
Up for sale is a fantastic piece of traditional bluegrass history: an original 1955 10-inch shellac 78 RPM pressing of Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs & The Foggy Mountain Boys performing "Before I Met You" b/w "I'm Gonna Sleep With One Eye Open" on the legendary Columbia Records label (Catalog #21412).  This mid-50s folk-country artifact features the crisp, classic 3-finger banjo picking of Earl Scruggs at the absolute height of the band's legendary run.  Condition Details (Strict Visual Grading Only):
    • Visual Grade: G to VG
    • Shellac Surface: No visual scratches on the playing area just a few paper scuffs. One tiny edge chip that doesn't affect play (see pic)
    • Center Labels: In great shape! The classic dark red Columbia labels are bright and fully legible with sharp silver text.
    • Audio Disclaimer: Please note this record is being sold based on visual grading only and has not been play-tested. Expect typical vintage 78 RPM surface noise and crackle.
