Florence Nightingale 78rpm record Edison Bell

 

 

 This is a 10" shellac 78rpm record on the Edison Bell Label, in very good condition for its age and it was recorded in aid of the Light Brigade Relief Fund

 

The original recording was made on the 30th July 1890; at her home 10 South Street, Park Lane, London, on a wax cylinder.  It was then transferred in 1935 onto a 78rpm record (so the sound is very old sounding).

 

This time it was recorded in aid of The British Empire Cancer Campaign; with Edith Evans, F.H.Griswood and The Wireless singers’ symphony orchestra.

 

I will donate 10% to cancer and if I get a good price I will donate 20% and if I get a really good price I will donate even more.
