Description
Here is an original 1964 pressing of the Capitol Records EP called 'Four By the Beatles'. The matrix numbers EAP-1-2121-F-1 and EAP-2-2121-F-1 indicate it's 1964 pressing from Capitol Records L.A. pressing plant. This record came originally with a picture sleeve but this one no longer has a picture sleeve. Perhaps you have the sleeve and need the record. Here it is.
Condition: Ok, the record is half a century old. This particular one has a lot of fine surface scratches, but the good news is that the record plays just fine and does not skip. The disc is not cracked or warped; it lies flay and the tone arm does not waver. The surface noise is mostly noticeable on This Boy and the beginning of Roll Over Beethoven. The inner tracks actually sound pretty good. Other than the surface noise, the music itself comes through nicely with real definition and no real groove distortion. Whoever owned the record originally must have had a light tone-arm.
The vinyl itself still retains a lot of it's original gloss. The label show some wear and has something marked in pencil so faint I can't make out what it says - it's not noticeable unless you really get up close in the light.
Item will be shipping in the green thick paper sleeve that you see in the photos. PLEASE NOTE that the surface scratches that are on both sides of this disc do not show in the photos... but they are there. Photographing records is not a perfect science unfortunately.
