This is a very special and EXCLUSIVE item your looking at, so pleaes read carefully. If you think you own every Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin or Rat Pack album chances are you flat out mistaken and are in for a real treat. Chances are even those who already own a copy of the Latimer LP probably haven't got or even seen this particular cover. The original Latimer Cafe LP records were non published albums NEVER released for sale, these were strictly given away as souvenirs at the Latimer Cafe in Philadelphia, Pa. and not available anywhere else. All the album covers were paper pictures glued over top any old album cover they could dig up and the vinyl record had just a plain white label with red print on it. What makes this really SPECIAL and unlike every other typical Latimer LP I've seen over the years is the cover on this particular LP. This cover is unlike all the other standard covers, this cover has Frank, Dean and Sammy wearing Santa suits with the caption, "May we be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas - 1964". This is SUPER RARE and a major score for all Frank, Dean, or Rat Pack collectors, and frankly without it your record collection is incomplete.
This Latimer LP featured a live show from the famed 500 Club in Atlantic City recorded August 25, 1962 and one can speculate if this recording was Sinatra's final show at the 500 Club since Sinatra's last documented performance at the 500 Club was in August of 1962, although the actual date is unknown. This show features some of the great music from all three artists along with plenty of laughs. It's pure entertainment so kick back and enjoy the show!
Please Read: F.Y.I. - What appears as some light colored stains on the cover is the actual glue they used bleeding through the paper. This is my one and only copy, therefore this is an extremely RARE opportunity to own this Latimer Lp featuring this exclusive Santa cover. This is a very special piece of history and to be cherished for the true Rat Pack fan. Good Luck and Enjoy!
In a era long before the casino's took over Atlantic City in the 1970's, there was the 500 Club. The 500 Club was a fascinating place in a golden era, its politics, people, and culture. Paul "Skinny" D'Amato created and presided over the 500 Club, the celebrated supper club that entertained thousands of Americans and helped guide the careers of the great Rat Pack performers; ”Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra". The 500 Club served as the ultimate backroom for the big players of entertainment, politics, sports, and the Mob. Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin paired for the first time at the 500 Club, and on any given night back in the 1950s and 1960s, you would find Elizabeth Taylor, Toots Shor, the Gabor sisters, Joe DiMaggio, Milton Berle, Liberace, Grace Kelly, Nat King Cole, and just about every big player in the underworld hanging out by the bar or in the back rooms. Here's a great opportunity to go back in time and capture the true essence of the Rat Pack while in their prime where they all started, at the famed Atlantic City 500 Club.
