If you are a Sinatra fan, and own a turntable, this is a set you must have: it includes ALL of the albums Sinatra created at the zenith of his career, meaning that this is some of the most memorable popular music from the mid-20th century . All twenty albums have been digitally remastered, are in stereo (aside from a very few individual songs in mono) and each comes in a facsimile of the original album sleeve, with the great period designs and write-ups.
The albums include: Swing Easy, Look to Your Heart, Songs for Young Lovers, All the Way, A Swingin' Affair, Wee Small Hours, Come Swing With Me, Only the Lonely, This is Sinatra, and Songs for Swingin' Lovers, among others.
Among the classic songs: "Sentimental Journey," "That Old Black Magic," "Moonlight in New York," "April in Paris," "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning," "I'll Be Around," "Something's Gotta Give," Dancing in the Dark," "Blue Moon," "September in the Rain," "Just One of Those Things," "Stormy Weather," "All the Way," "This Was My Love," "With Every Breath I Take," "Same Old Saturday Night," "I've Got You Under My Skin," "Old Devil Moon," "I've Got the World on a String," "I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues," "A Foggy Day," "I Get a Kick Out of You," "Only the Lonely," "One For My Baby," "Try a Little Tenderness," "Lonely Town," "Laura," "I Won't Dance," "September Song": there are a total of 250 songs on the 20 albums. From 1953 into the early 1960's, working with the songs of great composers, with such accomplished arrangers as Nelson Riddle, and with some of the best musicians of the times. The records were pressed in England. The box shows some water damage but the records, album covers & sleeves inside are in great condition. The records themselves, all in their protective sleeves, show no scratches. The facsimile album covers show, in approximately half of the 20 albums, minor wear along either the top or bottom edges. The set comes with a color booklet with an introductory essay by Alan Dell about the body of work.
