In this auction I am offering up the classic 1967 album  "Lumpy Gravy" (Verve V-8742).  This is the yellow label promo version. The label is stamped with "Disc Jockey Record: Not For Sale". It has been kept in storage for 47 years, and still looks great.  The jacket is in VG+ condition and the vinyl itself is EX.  It has barely been played, if at all.

This is NOT a re-release, NOT a reissue, NOT a counterfeit, NOT a cut-out, and NOT a second/third/or fourth pressing.  This is the real deal, folks.  Don't pass this one up, I'm serious.  I really didn't want to have to sell this one at this time, but since hard times have fallen on the city of Detroit, I'm finding myself having to sell my most prized LPs just for basic necessities.  If you're reading this auction right now, you have found me at a very rare time indeed, where I need to sell the albums that really define my collection.  Consider the 10 days that this auction is available as a free pass to not only help enhance your own record collection, but to help me personally make it through some hard economic times.  We can both win big on this one, no matter how hard it is for me to part with such an amazing LP.

The Cover:

The cover of this album looks really nice except for some whitening from being stored a little too snugly, as you can see in the pictures. The cover still retains some nice gloss in the unblemished areas, at least a lot more than I was expecting to find after all of these years. A little yellowing on the white spine is present. The binding on the gatefold is still excellent. Inside of gatefold is still as white as the day it was pressed for the most part. In some small areas there is some natural color wear. Some very minor shelfwear on the outside like tiny scuffs that you can see if you hold it in the light at the right angle round it out.

The Vinyl:
The actual LP (in original printed dust sleeve) looks fantastic. There are only a couple of sleeve markings, nothing from negligence or mishandling. This record has only been played once or twice back at the time of its release. It has sat completely untouched for almost 5 decades. It has shuffled around in its sleeve a little bit with expected results, but it appears that it will play perfectly. Dust sleeve is the original from Verve. Has a few creases on one corner only. The rest of it is excellent.

Any fan of Frank Zappa, or any record collector in general would be proud to own this unappreciated album in this ultra rare promo form.  Unless you don't particularly like the music on the record, you will not be disappointed about this purchase!  Its fairly obvious just by looking at the vinyl that it has barely been played.  Auctions like this simply don't come around very often (if ever), so you must ask yourself if this is the kind of item you want to pass up and let slip into someone else's hands.  Can your record collection stand to be without it?  I want to make sure that this 47 year old gem ends up in the hands of a TRUE collector that will appreciate what I'm offering here.  This auction is only for serious collectors, so please decide if this applies to you before you make your bid.  There is no way you will be dissatisfied with your purchase, and I know you will treasure this.  Good Luck on this one, you could end up getting it for a steal!
