( C ) 1986 Pumpko Industries Ltd. , Supporto in vinile - versione originale -, Pubblicato il 21 novembre 1985 . È stato originariamente pubblicato in due versioni leggermente diverse negli Stati Uniti e in Europa. Le due versioni sono state poi combinate e ristampate su un compact disc . L'album è sin dal titolo un attacco alla P.M.R.C., all'epoca impegnata nel vincolare le compagnie discografiche a pubblicare il " Parental Advisory ", un adesivo apposito per gli album di contenuto ritenuto in qualche forma offensivo. Tra i pezzi che Zappa, storico difensore della libertà di espressione in campo musicale, In questa versione " European Version " nell'album non viene inclusa " Porn Wars " , ( un collage di oltre dodici minuti comprendente pezzi audio dalle audizioni del PMRC al Senato americano ) . Tale traccia fu inizialmente inclusa soltanto nella versione destinata al mercato statunitense, in quanto Zappa ne riteneva il contenuto di scarso interesse al di fuori degli Stati Uniti, sostituendola con tre pezzi aggiuntivi, " I Don't Even Care " e gli strumentali " One Man - One Vote " e " H.R. 2911" , che poi altro non è che il tema musicale di " Porn Wars " .
Frank Zappa Meets the Mothers of Prevention is a 1985 album by Frank Zappa. It was originally released in two slightly different versions in the US and Europe.
The album's title is a reference to the lobby group, the PMRC, who were campaigning to require record companies to put warning stickers on albums they considered offensive, and to Zappa's former band, The Mothers of Invention. The original US version of the album contains the track, "Porn Wars" — a sound collage featuring excerpts from PMRC hearings. This track was omitted from non-US versions, and replaced with three other pieces: "I Don't Even Care", co-written by Zappa and Johnny "Guitar" Watson, and two instrumental tracks — "One Man, One Vote" (a Synclavier composition) and "H.R. 2911", which collates some of the backing music from "Porn Wars", without the PMRC hearing excerpts and other dialogue.
Frank Vincent Zappa (Baltimora, 21 dicembre 1940 – Los Angeles, 4 dicembre 1993) fu un musicista, chitarrista, compositore e polistrumentista statunitense.
