(Wikipedia Excerpts)  Zappa in New York is a double live album by Frank Zappa released on his own DiscReet Records label. It was recorded in December 1976 at a series of concerts at the Palladium in New York City.  The album was scheduled for release in mid 1977 but it was not generally available until March 1978. The album reached #57 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in the United States.

The album features a variety of rock and jazz-rock tracks. Sofa and Big Leg Emma had appeared in different arrangements on previous Zappa records, while the other songs were entirely new. Backing musicians include a full horn section, containing members of the Saturday Night Live band, including Lou Marini and Tom Malone, as well as the Brecker Brothers. In addition, Don Pardo was invited by Zappa to the Palladium concerts. After the December 1976 live performances Zappa spent time in the studio in early 1977 adding a significant number of overdubs, including additional percussion parts from Ruth Underwood, John Bergamo, and Ed Mann.

The Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired a collection of 2500+ albums from that era, which is now being sold on Ebay. Most are promotional and collectible LPs which have never (or seldom) been played. Many are white label promos, first pressings, and often factory sealed. The collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983, 39 years!  Please check back occasionally to see my new listings. I add approx. 25–50 new LPs per week.

Grading methodology is as follows:

M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played.

NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks.

VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy.

VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.
