MEM: Cinema & Music Memorabilia (vinylandfilmposters.co.uk)
You may have seen my recent Auctions of Original Artwork by Lo Cole for the Frankie Goes To Hollywood LP "Welcome to The Pleasuredome". The pieces being sold now represent the last of the Artists portfolio for this Commission. There are some beautiful, intriguing, humorous & historically important items available !
A wonderful opportunity to acquire an original piece of Artwork produced for the LP Cover of FGTH's debut LP, "Welcome To The Pleasuredome". FGTH burst onto the music scene in the early 1980's in dramatic fashion, having their debut single"Relax" banned by the BBC but nevertheless reaching #1 in the charts, where it was to remain for 5 weeks ! The Band established a distinctive cult image which was reflected in the Artwork for their debut LP released in 1984. The LP was subsequently voted by NME readers as the "Best Dressed" Album Cover of the year.
Designed by Artist, Lo Cole, this particular Design is on watercolour paper measuring 9 1/2"x 29". This is a draft Design for the image used on the inner of the gatefold LP Cover (see accompanying picture of the LP inner for purposes of comparison). This striking Design incorporates a variety of weird & wonderful animals trooping Noah-like towards an obviously phallic obelisk ! Similar to another painting sold recently but with subtle differences of composition.
This piece will be sold with a COA Signed by Lo Cole
This is an opportunity to own a visually striking & important piece of Rock memorabilia. A great piece for any FGTH fan or aficionados of the 80's Fashion & Music Scene. Please note that for such an important piece of original Artwork, the Starting Price has been set very low.
