Description
FRED NEWMAN: San Antonio/What Is a Home Without Babies (Broadway 8288). This is actually Charlie Poole and the North Carolina Ramblers, or the Highlanders as they were called on Paramount. It’s Roy Harvey on guitar and vocal, Charlie Poole on banjo, Lonnie Austin & Odell Smith on fiddles, Lucy Terry on piano; recorded 1929. Tremendous sides and hard to find. V+ condition, but noisy as these Broadways tend to be.
I’m helping a friend auction off his collection of fine old time, blues and ethnic 78s. There are some wonderful records, so check my other listings and keep checking back. Due to my schedule these listings will be spread over several weeks time.
