Description
This is an auction for the VERY RARE Freddie Redd Quartet - Music from "the Connection" BLUE NOTE 4027 - 47 West 63rd label on side 1/New York USA label on side 2 - BOTH DG labels - with Jackie McLean on alto. Engineered by Rudy Van Gelder with "RVG" and an "ear" stamped in the trailoff of both sides. NO RESERVE !!!
Record is Visually VG+ with many mostly light marks and PLAY GRADES VG+ to VG++ with some surface noise and ticks that vary - still an enjoyable experience, cover is VG+ with wear at corner edges including a 1" split at top of spine, some tiny white spots on front and some light brownish, foxing-like staining on back. PLEASE SEE THE ENLARGED PHOTOS.
Sound quality is superb, realistic audiophile quality - Rudy Van Gelder at his best recording excellent performances from the musicians - a stereo gem from 1960. One of several hard to find 60s & 70s Jazz pressings I'll be listing on Ebay this week.
