I hope the third time is the charm.

This is a relisting of an item that  was first listed three weeks ago.  The winning bidder did not pay for  the item (so it was never shipped).  The sale was cancelled. The item was sold for over $600.00  at that  auction.

The item was then relisted by me and sold for over $500.00,  but subsequent  to the auction and  prior to shipping I re-examined the record and determined that it had been misgraded by me and that M- should have been a VG++. I decided to play grade it (something I only do in about  20% of cases) and also discovered that there is a series of skips in  track 1 of side 2.  I contacted the buyer and  he agreed with my request to cancel the sale  and permit me to relist it with this new infomation.  Again it was never shipped or out of my posession.

Please read the following description carefully which is based on the new information.     

Freddie Redd Shades of Redd Blue Note 4045 Mono RVG Ear in Wax Nice

Early pressing.  Vinyl runoff  has the following markings.  Side one BNLP 4045-A and RVG (no Van Gelder)  and side two has  BNLP 4045-B and RVG.  Both sides have the  "ear" in wax (Plastylite symbol).

The inner lable which is pictured uses the word  "Microgroove" which  indicates  that it  was pressed between 1962 and 1966  and is Mono (not stereo). 

The inner sleeve is also pictured .

The back cover has the adress  43 West 61st st., New York 23 (which was in use from 1960-1965 ). 

Record = VG+ (very clean with a few light marks visible under direct light,  the record plays very very quiet... with no extraneous noise I could detect, but unfortunately has 3 very short skips during the beginning of side two on track one.  By skip I mean a defect which causes the record to jump to the immediate adjacent sound groove.  I  could not determine the cause of this  despite close examination so I assume it is possibly an intragroove pressing imperfection. Two of these three skips are right at the beginning of the song while the third skip is slightly later but still at an early portion of the  song.   Given that the record  visually grades to VG++ and plays very quiet  I think a VG+ is still fair under the cirumstances... but you the bidder should make that determination of what you can live with).   

Cover (a/k/a jacket or outer sleeve) = VG+ ( outstanding with only some very minor signs of wear on the back and front of cover, but has some writing on the  back cover including initials and a last name)

An excellent  copy of a rare record.

Record Grading System:

M (M or mint rating is only given to records that are unopened and still sealed  by me no matter how perfect an opened record may appear); M- (opened but appears unplayed, sleeve pristine or still in shrink); EX (close to M-) ; VG+ (some very minor signs of use does not affect listening, sleeve has some wear); VG (more significant signs of use, perhaps slightly audible noise in some  passages, sleeve has more significant signs of wear); G (significant signs of use and audible noise, sleeve may have serious signs of wear or damage).

All other locations add an additional $2.50 per record with a limit of 4 additional records per order (i.e. for five records to Canada shipping is $21.50 and to anywhere else in the world it is $27.50).

 N.B. Each record in a box set is considered a seperate record for purposes of shipping. Therefore, a three (3) record box set will be considered three (3)  separate records and the cost with shipping three ( 3) records to your destination will apply. As an example, if a  box set contains 3 records,  the ordinary charge of $17.50 for shipping one (1) record outside the U.S. would apply plus an additional $2.50 each for the two (2) additional records for a total of $22.50.
