This is a once played, NM gorgeous copy of the special Music Matters reissue of Art Blakey's Free For All, pressed on SRX vinyl. Each of the SRX 33 1/3rpm releases was an EXTREMELY limited release, often selling out within minutes.
The album, itself, is possibly Blakey's most explosive. And the blacker noise floor of the vinyl allowed Music Matters to allow even greater dynamics to be revealed (the better your equipment, the more of this aspect will be revealed). It's an exceptional sounding as well as musically exciting album.
As most of you who read this know, Music Matters enhanced their releases with beautiful reproductions of original Francis Wolff photos (he was one of the owners of Blue Note), creating a gatefold presentation when the original record had none. Printed on thick stock by Stoughton Press, these are the highest quality album covers in the world. The only physical flaw is a small tear at the crevice of the inner gatefold, unfortunately a common issue these gorgeous Stoughton Press gatefolds. It's hardly noticeable, but you can see it in one of the photos. The tear could be glued down, if you care.
