Description
This is a vinyl LP by Free, titled "Tons Of Sobs" and released in 1969 under the Island Records label. ILPS 9089
Record is in Very Good (VG) condition.
Gatefold original cover is very good with slight aging due to storage. Original paper sleeve has aged but not torn.
This was the first album released by Free, recorded at Morgan Studios, Willesden, London. Produced by Guy Stevens. It is reported to have cost £800 to record.
It was due out in in December 1968 but was delayed as Paul Rodgers did not like the original version which tried to capture the songs from their stage set. It was further delayed so that their great cover version of the " The Hunter" was included.
The track Going down slow, which lasts over 8 minutes, was completed in the very first take.
Bass player Andy Fraser was aged 16 at the time of this recording.
