Description

DO NOT use the Ebay shipping calculator price quote (except on pre-set items such as single CDs or LPs) ! I will get you a post office quote at auction's end. The Ebay calculator is frequently wrong and usually in the favor of the seller. I WILL NOT be bound by their quote if it is too low to cover my expenses and if you underpay I will refund and begin the process over at the correct amount. If you use it and overpay, well, I have tried to help you and you ignored me so it's on you. Also, payment is expected within 4 days time. If payment is not received within that time period an unpaid item reminder will be sent. This will originate automatically from Ebay. It will not come from me and is not meant as a personal insult. If your are the type who can't handle getting such a reminder there is a very simple solution - make prompt payment. Payment via Paypal takes about 4 MINUTES so I feel that 4 DAYS is certainly sufficient time to get it done. If you fail to read or follow these instructions then it is you who have caused the problem, not me. Even Ebay acknowledges that it is the responsibility of the BUYER to read and follow the instructions of the seller in order to make a successful transaction. I am sorry to have to be so blunt but I am very tired of folks ignoring clear instructions and then blaming me for their mistakes. Respect is a two way street. I try very hard to treat my customers well (as my feedback indicates)but I need to receive a little consideration as well.                                                                 I truly regret having to address this issue but recent events have forced my hand.Starting today (7-8-11) I will need you to inform me when you are bidding on multiple items of your intent to do so immediately after winning the first item. I am wasting far too much time, work, and money by getting right to work packing your item, driving to the post office the next day, getting a quote, and sending an invoice (which you still aren't responding to) which prompts an unpaid item reminder all for an invoice you do not even need. PLEASE, all it takes is a little cooperation and consideration on your part. If this is not done I will be sending separate invoices, separate mailings, and separate shipping charges. That would be very expensive especially to overseas customers. I really love my overseas customers and likely would have no business without you but it has been mostly overseas customers who are doing this so ... PLEASE do not let it come to that. Thank you !                                                               Overseas bidders are very welcome here but shipping to overseas customers will be determined by a Post office quote at auction's end !!! You will be covering my expenses and NOT paying ridiculous "fees" but you MUST wait for an invoice with this amount added. If you ignore theses instructions and pay the lower U.S. rate, your money will be refunded and the process will be repeated correctly. Also, I will not mark customs declaration forms as a "gift" or state any reduced value on your purchase. That is against Ebay policy and, more importantly, illegal.                                            This is truly one of the great undiscovered blues album rarities out there. Hailing from the Philadelphia area, these  four guys formed a band that plays mostly familiar blues covers but did it in such a way that it still blows me away every time I listen. They have a very distinct leaning towards the British side of blues which is just fine with me. Sad to say, Freight Train - "Just The Beginning" released in 1971 on the tiny Fly By Nite label, was NOT just the beginning. It was both the debut and swan song for this very talented band. I, for one, would have loved to see them release many more albums of this caliber because albums of this quality are rarely seen even by the big name bands. This compares with most anything coming out at that time and all from a band nobody has heard of on a national level. Amazing ! Rick Shaffer on lead guitar and vocals, Steve Martina on lead vocals and guitar, J.A. Peters on bass, and Tom Geddes on drums really did themselves proud with this incredible album.  This album in sealed or near mint condition sells in the hundreds of dollars and is probably worth every penny. If I had a copy in that condition I would be asking big bucks to even consider parting with it. So ... what do you do when you want a copy but dropping several hundred dollars is not an option ?  Well, ... maybe, you pick up a solid, playable copy at a relatively manageable price and try to be content with that. If so, this could be the album for you. It is still not cheap and, frankly, I won't be a bit upset if it hangs around unsold. I love the album myself. The jacket on it is in pretty strong condition with light corner dings and light ring wear and general aging/handling/wear. As for the vinyl that is a little harder to grade. The vinyl does show some scuffs/light scratching though nothing serious but remember that small pressings aren't always on the best vinyl. Having said that I still feel this is a pretty solid playing copy. It certainly does not fall in the near mint range but it plays pretty well (though surface noise is certainly audible). In short, it isn't the greatest copy in the world by far but you can pay hundreds for a really nice one or you can get a so-so copy for $50.00. The other copy on Ebay is at $113.00 currently with over 3 days to go (it sold for $237.26 so you can see that I wasn't exaggerating when I said copies sell in the hundreds of dollars) so you can choose for yourself. If you are a British blues fan of the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Chicken Shack, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, etc. check out some very well played British style blues played by a band from Philly. I truly doubt that I will ever have another of these (but if I see one cheap I'll grab it up for sure) so don't miss out on this one !
