For sale here is aVERY rare LP. the FIRST (especially in this condition) by GENESIS  called " FROM GENESIS TO REVELATION " and is an ORIGINAL 1969 UK STEREO 2nd Pressing on the 2nd Press DECCA label.THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VERY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE. THIS IS ONE OF GENISIS's RAREST EVER, AND HARDLY EVER TURNS UP FOR SALE... TRY AND GET HOLD OF ANOTHER ONE!..NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN SUPERB CONDITION...(have a look at my photo's) THIS IS THE ORIGINAL UK 1969 STEREO 2nd PRESSING ON THE 2nd PRESS DECCA LABEL. 2nd PRESS  MATRIXES, AND 2nd PRESS FRONT LAMINATED ROBERT STACE SLEEVE ...THIS LP IS MEGA RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ULTRA RARE RECORD...this is the ORIGINAL decca UK STEREO 1st pressing from 1969 and is in SUPERB condition!..The record is pressed on a slab of THICK black quality vinyl. The Cat no. is skl. 4990 on the 1st PRESS DECCA label...(have a look at my photo's) and is a UK STEREO 2nd Pressing..

Labels are the sensational blue DECCA format in excellent++ condition With the silver DECCA logo above the central holes on both labels to confirm that this is the very first issue of this magnificent rarity. All sides are excellent++ with no signs of age, has the odd ultra light spindle line but no damage of any kind, to suggest that the vinyl has only had very few plays!!! NO graffiti , NO rips ,NO tears, NO stickers  whatsoever and in excellent++ condition!!!

Vinyl

Thickly pressed heavy weight  vinyl pressing with jet black mirrior like surfaces That have that just pressed look!!. A magnificent vintage classic . Against a strong halogen light and angled at 45 degrees , There are NO surface marks, NO nasty scratches and NO blemishes whatsoever!! NO very tiny faint wispy lines are visible at all. A remarkable visual and impossible to locate in this condition! and would therefore grade as near mintcondition!!!

Sleeve

Original UK 1969 first press!!! front laminated  Robert Stace sleeve is showing signs of wear, with some laminate lift, ring wear and slight creasing to the edges. The sleeve has NO rips, NO stickers ,NO tears and absolutley NO graffitti whatsoever,and is a pleasure to view!!.The sleeve is in very good+ condition and a Fantastic collectors item!!! . The Spine is  fairly straight,and legible. Very difficult to locate for a record of  over 40 years old!!! This is still a fine example of this sensational DECCA classic !!!!

From Genesis to Revelation was the first album by Genesis, released in March 1969 on Decca Records in England (London Records in North America). It was produced by Jonathan King, who discovered them in 1967 while the members of Genesis were pupils at Charterhouse School, King's alma mater as well.

Upon their inception in early 1967, Genesis originally consisted of Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, and Anthony Phillips, sans a drummer. Once one of their demo tapes caught the attention of Jonathan King, he took them under his wing and—with the addition of schoolmate Chris Stewart on drums—recorded "The Silent Sun" as their first single. It was later described by the band as a "Bee Gees pastiche" written specifically to win King's approval. Its February 1968 release on Decca Records—where The Rolling Stones were contracted at the time—was not a commercial success. Neither was the follow-up "A Winter's Tale" three months later. Undeterred, King decided that Genesis would be best heard on LP. After replacing Chris Stewart with John Silver on drums, Genesis' producer had them compose an album's worth of songs loosely based on the Bible. This venture was cut in August 1968—while the boys were on school holidays—and later overdubbed with strings and horns, much to the band's chagrin. King also sequenced the songs together like a concept album, with no gaps in between the tracks.

The music on From Genesis To Revelation sounds very little like what Genesis would produce even two years later. When this album was recorded in 1968, the ages of the band members ranged from 16 to 18, and none of them considered themselves proficient musicians as they had hardly any studio experience. Still, the band feels that there were some very good tracks and that they already had a knack for melody, even in these embryonic times[citation needed]. Tony Banks has often hailed "In The Wilderness" as the album's standout track, despite the intrusive strings[citation needed].

From Genesis To Revelation was issued several months later in a black sleeve with its title scribed in gothic gold on the top lefthand side. With little else to go by, the record shops stacked the LP in the religious sections and it was consequently impossible to find. Its initial sales tally was 650 copies. However, once the band began achieving worldwide success, From Genesis To Revelation briefly dented the US charts in 1974, peaking at #170.
