ARTIST / TITLE : SERGE GAINSBOURG "o.s.t. SI J'ETAIS UN ESPION (BREAK DOWN) / SEX SHOP"

CONDITION (Record/Cover) : M-/M-
COMMENT : Original French pressing of this very rare and sought after 45 which contains movies soundtracks by Serge Gainsbourg. Although the lush theme "Sex Shop" (arranged by Jean-Claude Vannier) sung by Serge has seen an original issue in 1972, the B side's tracks "Generique" and "Break Down" (arranged by Michel Colombier) from the 1967 movie "Si J'Etais Un Espion" never did at the time, but in 1991 on this Hortensia edition. These 2 compositions are intense and powerful moody instrumentals with fat funk drums, ethereal piano chords, striking guitar, and classy string arrangements.
Apparently this release is particularly rare because of the deletion of most copies in 1991 due to royalty problems. Only around 300 copies were saved and this is one of them! The "Si J'Etais Un Espion" (a.k.a. "If I was a Spy") OST has seen a re-release by Universal on CD but doesn't contain these particular takes, making this 45 an absolute must have.

EX = Record in superb condition, very rarely played, may present slight visible marks but no audible ones. Sleeve may present slight signs of natural aging.
VG+ = Record is really nice, may present a few visible marks which are slightly audible. Sleeve may present a few flaws like light openings, ringwear...
VG = Record has been played often, presents some visible and audible marks. Sleeve shows noticeable defects like heavy split seam, tears...
VG- = Record doesn't look nice because of general wear, it is in playable condition, but some/all tracks are noisy or click. Sleeve has noticeable general wear.
