Description
Here is the 45 "I Need Your Lovin" b/w "Such A Love" by The Vikings, WAM Records, 1965. I'm sure you know the rarity of this record... of the 50-100 originally pressed, only 2 copies have been sold or accounted for, so this makes the third! Excellent mid-sixties garage from north-east Ohio.
Matrices (hand etched): A SIDE: ARS-45-22A (R)
B SIDE: ARS-45-22B
Vinyl is G+/G - Both sides have lots of hairline scratches all over, and some light scuffs. The light, overall scratches are typical of a 45 that was not kept in a sleeve, and slid against other records. A side has about 4-5 small scratches that are deep enough to feel with a fingernail. B side has about 2 scratches that can be felt with a fingernail, and has a scuff that causes clicking during the first 30 seconds (listen to sample below). B side had a short skip during my first test, but didn't skip in any of the subsequent plays (about 5 plays).
Labels look G+ - Both sides have ring wear/dark wear that has started to obscure the already-faint text. Both sides have writing in black marker, B side has a number stamp. Some light wear at hole on both.
I tried to photograph the scratches on the vinyl, pictures 6 & 7 show the amount of scratches that can be seen from a slight distance. Photos 8, 9, & 10 were taken with a macro lens of some of the worse areas towards the outer edge. These are super magnified shots, the penny in the frame is there for a scale and detail reference.

In short, this copy has some cosmetic flaws. It plays with some surface noise and a few clicks. It may not be the most beautiful copy, but it will probably be the only authentic copy you will ever see. I personally think it plays better than it looks, the crackling doesn't overpower the music, but samples are provided so you can judge it for yourself (if you're looking for a perfect sounding copy, there's always the cheap represses...). I've tried to provide as much information as possible, but if you have any questions, please ask before bidding. As usually, Paypal is accepted, but I would also accept wire transfer for this item. If buyer is within the U.S., I'll pay for shipping and insurance. International shipping is $50 for this item as INSURANCE IS MANDATORY! Please do not ask me to end this auction early or change the value on the customs form.
As a collector, I try to provide as much information and a description of each record’s condition as possible. Unless a sound sample is posted (always of the record you are bidding on), records are graded visually. My grading system is as follows:
M – Mint – Unopened or just opened. I very rarely use this grade, I reserve it for the most pristine copies.
NM (+&-) – Near Mint – Record has been treated with care. Free of notable scratches or abrasions. Label is generally in great condition.
VG++ (or EX) – Very Good ++ - May have a couple light surface scratches or scuffs, but is very listenable and should not disturb play. Label may have slight wear, writing or marks.
VG (+&-) – Very Good – May have more than a few light scratches or a couple heavier scratches or scuffs. May play with some crackling, but not enough to overpower the music. Sleeve may have a seam split, ring wear, writing, etc.
G (+&-)– Good – Record may have multiple scratches or small gouge(s). May have significant crackling that may overpower the music, but still listenable. Label may be torn.
F (+&-) – Fair – Record has significant damage.
