A classic set by one of the greatest soul singers of the 60s -- filled with strong original tunes taken completely over the top by Garnet's incredible vocals! The style is completely sublime -- a unique blend of the rough and the smooth that would be taken up by other singers in years to come, but which somehow never sounded as fresh and new as it did on this set. Arrangements are sublime -- a masterpiece in understatement by Garry Sherman -- and the Jerry Ragovoy production on the set is at once spacious and intimate, in a manner that's still leaving us scratching our heads at its brilliance over 40 years later! Titles include "One Girl", "There Goes My Baby", "As Long As I Have You", "It's Just A Matter Of Time", "Tell Me Baby", "Every Time", "One Woman Man", "There Is Something On Your Mind", and "Look Away".

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG VERY GOOD++ . CAUTION: The vinyl is NOT MINT or NEAR MINT, but is nevertheless in a very nice and clean condition. There are some surface marks and abrasions, mostly light and superficial, although some may be longer than 1.1/4 inches (1 inch = 2.5 centimeters)

(b)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.

(d)          Stereo  pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its mono  counterpart. The mix is more graphic, the sound resolution more precise, and the channel separation (which does not exist on mono version) adds a whole new dimension to the music. Also, the stereo mixes are (by definition) somewhat different than on the mono version. We estimate that mono copies of this album outnumber stereo copies  by a ratio of at least 10:1.

(e)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

COVER IS (WEAK) NEAR MINT,  STILL IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP   (A SMALL PIECE OF SHRINK WRAP IS MISSING)

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 1.

-         Back cover has some light yellowish stains, probably from exposure to humidity  (nothing significant).

-         Cover has some fraying/wear along the opening side.

-         Cover has two corners slightly worn / dinged  (nothing significant)

-        No split seams

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping
