With a stellar lineup featuring Jerry Hahn on guitar and Richard Greene on electric violin, the album captures a playful yet sophisticated energy. Tracks like “Vibrafinger” and “Las Vegas Tango” brim with creativity, making it a standout in Burton’s catalog.


Fun Fact: The recording session for Good Vibes was held in New York City, but Gary Burton later revealed that the playful title came from a joke among the band about their chaotic rehearsal process. Despite their struggles to lock in some of the complex arrangements, Burton jokingly declared, “At least we’ve got good vibes,” and the name stuck!
