As a producer and songwriter, Gary Usher worked with the Beach Boys, Byrds, and others, helping to sculpt the L.A. sound of the mid-1960s. Earlier in the decade, he was already a kingpin of hot-rod/surf music, masterminding dozens of records by "groups" that were one-off studio concoctions featuring his songs and production, and sometimes his vocals as well. BAREFOOT ADVENTURE is a two-disc collection of those recordings, plus interviews and more, making for a solid slice of L.A. pop history.
