Brief description of item

This is another of my Vertigo Swirl ORIGINAL. So far I've sold a few to many happy people..Bands like, Gentle Giant, Cressida, Manfred Mann, Nucleus, Fairfield parlour etc.

This is...

Gasoline alley with VO price code. From 1972 the original year of release. This is a first press, with matching matrix 1Y1 & 2Y1. No earlier possible release available.

The cover is gated & textured. No handwritten names in ink or biro pen. Minimal wear around the corners & opening side loader. No ripping or tearing, no split to the intact spine at the side, perfectly legible text. Inside a picture of Rod & quotes from the day of recording printed from Ron Wood & Rod. The cover is made in the U.K. By Howards Printers (Slough) LTD. All track titles are fully legible on the left hand side of the cover. VO price code on the back. With cat # 6360 500.

The inner bag is here with poly lined bag still intact, which has done a fine job in protecting the record stored inside for years.

The labels are vertigo swirl & are on both sides excellent shape for the age. Only the slightest of spindle wear around the centre pin hole on white side (side B) .This is visable  ONLY under bright light. No handwritten names in ink or biro pen, no ripping or fade in print. Perfectly legible text & song/track titles.

The actual record is the star of the offer. Many vertigo records of the time are infamously iffy! down to the type of plastic used (on some) this is a clean record, appearance is great & scratch free only the slightest of hairlines visable under bright extreme halogen bulb. These do no impare the play. Test played on both side again & cleaned a little with a cloth to remove any small dust particles. Plays as excellent with only the most minimal background noise )in some parts) I.E. The run in/out/track change. NO - pops, ticks, skip-back, distortion, crackle, loud hiss or signs of needle thrashing. Only at worst the small part of background noise noted and that on my part honestlt is being pretty critical in this description. Overall a no less than acceptable/excellent or better vinyl example offered...No point otherwise really in my opinion. And let's face it this is over 4 decades in age so this ain't bad!

Thanks for viewing. And keep a watch out for more very RARE swirls & rare prog/jazz etc  coming soon.

>>  Grading of Items All items are graded conservatively according to Record Collectors Grading System Record Collectors Grading system

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves
