Description
Hi, great classic folk psych rock by Gene Clark. The LP is Self-titled With the Gosdin Brothers on COLUMBIA Records (CS 9418).
Rare Original Stereo Columbia 360 sound red/white original from 1967. Produced by Larry Marks (Phil Ochs) and Gary Usher, who worked with and on the Millennium LP, Sagittarius (Columbia), Notorious Byrd Brothers, Beach Boys, Hondells and many other fine soft-psych productions. LP features some Wrecking Crew members, Leon Russell, Jerry Cole and Glen Campbell. Chris Hillman & Michael Clarke from the Byrds are on the record as well, along with Clarence White and Doug Dillard (The Banjo Album on Together Records)
From the first track 'Echoes,' you just know you have something special in your hands. The lush arrangement, Gene's brooding, yet buoyant vocals intermingled with the country folk sounds & strings is the perfect mix. Cheers to Mr Clark for all his Columbia and A&M records of the late 60s and 70s.
Condition of record: VG+ Has excellent gloss, sounds very good. Very light scratches & wear on both sides.
Sounds excellent with light background noise and pops on intros heard at loud volumes on my Panasonic home system. Sounds more unnoticeable on my SL1200s with Ortofon dj needles. Comes with white sleeve.Condition of label: NM Looks pristine, lettering and Columbia colors still vibrant.
Condition of cover: VG to VG+ Clean on front and back. A little more wear comes through on white portion of back cover, mostly on bottom and bottom right . Spine looks very good and legible. Someone did tape the top and bottom seams all the way. I am not sure why, there is no evidence of splitting from the inside. Slight wear does show on bottom middle 3/4s of an inch. Very slight tear on front, lower right. Colors, logos and title still shine, look nice and readable. Good cover throughout because there are no splits, minimal wear, plus tape is not too noticeable.
