Description

Black Jazz Records BJQD/10 quadrophonic promo original with 8 tunes in all. Gene Russell was the  founder of the ‘Black Jazz‘ label, and as well as playing on other artists releases he also released a couple of his own. Here he’s at his funky best on electric  and acoustic piano – and the group is a nicely expanded unit that includes some extra percussion,  plus guitar by Calvin keys, both of which add a tight kick to Gene’s work on Fender Rhodes.  All the added percussion gives the record a quality that’s quite different than the usual 70's pian  outing, especially trio-based sessions. The cover has moderate partial ring wear & a small piece of yellow tape at the upper left corner as well as a promo sticker - is a strong VG+. The vinyl is VG++ to NEAR MINT.
