Description
GENE VINCENT Back and I'm Proud, UK DANDELION, NR/MINT!
Gene Vincent, I'm Back and I'm Proud.
Scarce 1969 pressed UK Dandelion Records stereo LP housed in gatefold sleeve, 63754.
Earliest A1/B1 matrix suffixes.
Not only one of the scarcest UK Gene Vincent LPs, but probably one of the scarcest LPs on the Dandelion label. A Gene Vincent album released in the late 1960s on a label better known for its folky/proggy fare was never going to be a great seller!
An impressively well preserved near mint issue in alike sleeve, which should satisfy the most demanding of collectors.
Labels are bright and clean and even with the aid of a magnifying glass I can detect no spider trail marks at centre spindle areas. Vinyl surfaces have a rich gloss and are free of any marks. Hardly appears played.
Playback throughout is superb. No underlying background noise, no crackle, and no ticks or clicks. Silent bands between tracks are exactly that. A very well recorded LP, which has a bright and punchy sound only to be found on a vinyl release. No distortion, groove wear or anything else affecting playback.
Inner sleeve in excellent condition.
Gatefold main sleeve has also suvived in close to near mint condition, aided by being stored within a protective poly sleeve. The fragile single leaf front fold has suffered no wear or creasing. The predominantly white areas to the inner of the gatefold are bright white still and without any marks or darkening.
Main front and rear panels are not only free of rips, tears or pen marks, but do not have any hairline dinks or impressions - rarely found with a non-laminated matt textured sleeve of this type. Edges very well preserved with no wear or seam splits. The only blemishes to the sleeve, if one wishes to be picky, are one or two inconsequentail hairline pinch creases leading in from spine area, and just spots of whitening rubbing to tips, mainly at head and foot of spine. This is being niggling however, all in all an extremely well preserved issue of this rare LP.

A Note On Grading:Note that audio grading is subjective and based on sensitivity of equipment used for playback. In this instance playback has been tested on a vintage Technics Quartz Direct Drive SL1700 MKII turntable with Shure cartridge, Technics SU-C 03 amp and Technics SB-F2 Linear Phase speakers.
Also note that I generally do not clean vinyl unless so noted. Most vinyl will show improved playback quality with your preferred cleaning method, but I leave this to the prospective buyer, as controversy still surrounds the ideal method of cleaning vinyl.
