This is a rare collectible first pressing copy of the famous Genesis album 'Foxtrot'. It was recorded in 1972 on Charisma Records (CAS 1058).
I'm not setting a reserve as I know this terrific item will find its correct price!
The vinyl is in superb condition and plays perfectly - EXCELLENT+ to almost MINT condition - with no spindle marks or wear around the centre hole. Both playing surfaces are extremely clean and retain all of their deep gloss shine. There's just a little light static on playback between tracks and in the occasional quiet place, as you'd expect on a rare vinyl item like this, but no pops or clicks.
The outer sleeve is the textured gatefold "Printed & made by the E. J. Day Group, London & Bedford" (with the credit on the right-hand side of the inner gatefold) and "Marketed by B & C Records Ltd, 37 Soho Square, London W1" (with the credit on the left-hand side of the inner gatefold). The vertical spine lettering is in red and, again, is perfect. The vinyl itself has the large pink 'Mad Hatter' labels and carries the 'PORKY' and 'PECKO' hand-etched markings in the run-out grooves.
The inner sleeve is the hard to obtain red Charisma advertising piece.
Both the outer and inner sleeves are in fabulous shape given the album is almost 45 years old. I am a huge Genesis collector and this might well be the best first pressing of Foxtrot I've ever seen (apart from my own personal copy of course)!
I use 'Record Collector' condition gradings, although I tend to undergrade so that the buyer is fully satisfied. I only use the term MINT if an item is sealed and unplayed, and therefore many of my EXCELLENT+ grades would be considered by many to be MINT!
