Description
GENESIS Sounds Out UK 2 LP. Charisma GE 2001. Released 1977
Here we have a super UK pressing of this Double Live LP. The vinyl looks as though it’s been played an extremely minimal number of times, if at all! I find this a difficult LP to pin down a particular 1st pressing, the matrix numbers of this copy may not be the earliest, but the inner sleeves are of the original type that came with first pressings with tapered top edge corners and the Polygram inners are of the correct vintage for 1977/8.
Grading: -
Outer Sleeve: EX
A super example of this gatefold sleeve with colour live shots of the band inside the gatefold. The edges have sporadic wear in places, but the sleeve is flat and clean with no rubbing which often spoils this particular cover. A high-grade cover for this day and age.
Vinyl: Mint
I’m always highly reluctant to describe any record as Mint, but here we have two records which in my opinion meet that bar. When viewed under bright halogen light I can’t make out any form of hairline or wear on the surfaces. If there is any then I can’t see them at my advancing years – this is genuinely an amazing copy of this LP which has defied time. A stunning copy
Vinyl Audio: Near Mint
Grading records of this standard visually is hard, because when it comes to vinyl then something which looks perfect rarely plays perfectly and yes IT IS VINYL so anyone looking for a CD experience from this or any record is likely to be slightly disappointed. But these LP’s play beautifully as about as well as any 46 year old records could. Superbly clear and dynamic sound.

Picture Inner Sleeves: EX+
Thick Card inner marked SIS 1 and SIS 2 respectively. I believe these to be of the first issue type. Later versions had different top edge openings but these with sloped cut corners at the top were first. They are in superb condition with no major condition points.
Overall, this is a stunning example of a 1st pressing of this LP.

Postage and Packing:
All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping. Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers. My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
