Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.
We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.
We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status! Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... THE VINYL EX+ INCREDIBLE CONDITION
As you can see, this vinyl is the EARLY 70s MAD HATTER LABEL pressing -
Stored from new this LP has seen possibly A COUPLE OF VERY CAREFUL plays only, and remains in pristine condition everywhere. THE VINYL REALLY IS QUITE SUPERB.
POSSIBLY THE CLEANEST COPY WE HAVE EVER HAD IN FACT!
This pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is virtually no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this 'HATTER' LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.
There are a couple of light spider lines around the centre hole, and no wear to the spindle hole whatsoever.
There are a few whisp lines, and thats it- nothing else! Clearly this LP has been archived for many many years, a few little dust specs are on the vinyl when we slid it for checking..IT REMAINS IN ASTONISHING CONDITION.
On playing through we heard nothing in the dead grooves of any note at all....pretty much like brand new1
Possibly, some light static in a few spots during play..but again, we heard hardly a thing! the quiet passages were stunning- overall this is easily as clean a copy as we have heard.
A very rare record to see at all these days in this condition..
OVERALL THIS IS SIMPLY A MUST FOR ANY FINAL UPGRADE COLLECTION. YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER.
THE LABELS MINT- MAD HATTER SMALLER LABELS
We feel that due to the way that Charisma changed their label designs, this LP when it was re-iussed after the 'pink scroll' label (1st two albums) in 1974 it went straight to a small hatter label.. the large hatter label was issued for Genesis LPs from 1971-1973..according to our dictionary of record labels & wikipedia.

This is in SUPERB condition, NO WEAR OF ANY NOTE AT ALL
The edges have just the odd spot of rub on the edges!
No ringwear - no press of any note
The open edge remains sharp condition -
Just the lightest tip rub on the open tips
The inside gatefold is pristine. (one very light press line on the left panel)
this really is as good as we have ever seen.
