Description
GENESIS Trespass. UK Charisma CAS 1020. Original release Oct 1970.
Please also see my other Genesis first pressings and other prog LP’s that I am currently auctioning on eBay.
This is possibly one of the rarest variations of this LP to exist.
Transitional copies of Genesis LP’s which have a Large Mad Hatter on one side and a Small Hatter on the other, are very hard to find.
When they do turn up they are invariably of the album “Nursery Cryme”.
Finding a copy of Trespass with transitional labels is nothing short of miraculous ,and almost a one in a million find. This is only the second copy I have seen in over 25 years.
Grading: -
Outer Sleeve: EX
The smooth cover, Garrod & Lofthouse manufactured gatefold sleeve is in EX condition. It shows just feint signs of wear and is extremely clean with no worrying faults.
Vinyl: VG+
The Vinyl is in VG+ condition. The record displays a moderate amount of light hairlines only visible when viewed under a bright halogen light. There are no deep or worrying marks and this is a reasonable copy of what is an amazing Genesis rarity.
Labels: EX+
The A Side label is the slightly later Small Mad Hatter label with “Marketed By B&C Records credit”
The B Side label is the earlier Large Mad Hatter label with “Manufactured & Distributed by B&C Records” credit
Both labels are in EX+ condition. Perfectly clean with a moderate amount of light spindle marks which can be seen under bright halogen light.
Lyric Insert: EX
The original green lyric insert is in EX condition and shows just light signs of use.
Inner Sleeve: EX-
The original generic white inner sleeve is in EX- and is creased in one area but otherwise intact and clean.
This is an amazing opportunity to own an extremely rare Transitional label copy of Trespass. You will be very unlikely to see another one!!
Postage and Packing:
All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping. Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers. My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
