RARE original German first pressing of Gentle Giant`s classic album "Acquiring The Taste" on Vertigo Records (July 1971).
"...It is our goal to expand the frontiers of contemporary popular music at the risk of being very unpopular. We have recorded each composition with the one thought - that it should be unique, adventurous and fascinating. It has taken every shred of our combined musical and technical knowledge to achieve this. From the outset we have abandoned all preconceived thoughts of blatant commercialism. EX COVER with a bit of storage wear only. Please see photos for details.
- Unlaminated gatefold sleeve in very nice allround condition. Slight general wear.
- Light scuffing to top and bottom edges.
- Minor wear to the two outer corners.
- Also includes the original polylined German inner sleeve, dated "44.73" (at bottom right) in MINT(-) condition.
MINT(-) RECORD that looks unplayed.
- Perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- No hairlining, scuffing or spindle wear whatsoever.
- Original untouched first-pressing Vertigo Records labels with the characteristic swirl.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "10 AA6360041 1Y //2 320" and "10 AA6360041 2Y //2 320".
- Mothers/Stampers: "1 / D" on Side One and "2 / E" on Side Two.
- This record is hereby certified to be a very first German pressing of "Acquiring The Taste", released in July 1971.
