GENTLE GIANT Octopus UK VERTIGO SWIRL 1ST PRESS 6360 080 PLAYGRADED! TOP AUDIO!!

Very first UK pressing on Vertigo Swirl, with the correct label style and matt gatefold sleeve

  • Small swirl logo on labels
  • 'VERTIGO' appears above the spindle hole
  • Matt gatefold sleeve - no printer's credit
  • With original swirl inner sleeve

This UK 1st pressing for sale today is a rare orginal example and a very worthy collection filler until a Mint one comes along. Sleeve is VG with a couple of small surface tears to front sleeve. The vinyl is in VG+/EX condition. It's reasonably well played but still plays very well throughout. Vinyl weight is a modest 118g and looks very shiny and clean with a few light hairlines under string light and some light surface scuffs that don't affect the playback at all. Audio is superb.

A side matrix (stamped):
6 3 6 0 0 8 0   1 Y // 1   4 2 0    1  1  2

B side matrix (stamped):
6 3 6 0 0 8 0   2 Y // 1    4 2 0   1  2  4

Audio is remarkably clean, light background crackle audible on run ins/intros and in between tracks, faintly audible on the quieter sections but easily covered by the louder audio. Very impressed by the audio quality throughout. Just faint background crackle, no loud pops or clicks. Very nice. Plays as EX+.

Sleeve is in very good condition with sadly just the small rips to front cover. The rest is in excellent condition. Spine and edges are excellent with only very light wear. Inner gatefold is excellent.

Labels are clean but with a few spindle traces visible. Small swirl with 'VERTIGO' above the spindle hole - correct for a first pressing.

Original Vertigo Swirl poly lined inner sleeve in very good condition.
