After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please check out my other listings and remember to save me as a favourite seller, as every week I'll be listing more and more increasingly rare, collectible and desirable Beatles records!

Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for an incredibly rare copy of the George Harrison avant garde LP 'Electronic Sound' on the UK Zapple label! Some very early copies feature the 'Sold in the UK' statement, but this copy just missed out.

The Zapple label was a subsidiary of Apple and was intended for more experimental pieces. Only two albums were ever released on the Zapple label, this one and John Lennons Unfinished Music No. 2: Life With the Lions (of which I currently have a sealed US press for sale on eBay).

Electronic Sound was the result of George Harrison becoming the owner of a Moog synthesiser. As it was being set up Bernie Krause was showing him how it all worked. This session was recorded without Krause's knowledge, so he claims, and released with him credited as "assisting". Initially, Bernie's "Assisted By" credit was on the front cover but, at the insistance of George, this was silver-sprayed over. However, on the cover here you can *just* about make out Bernie's name. I've tried to get a photo of this.

because of it's highly experimental nature this LP absolutely bombed in the UK charts and nobody bought it. It sold in absolutely tiny amounts and, today, original presses have become incredibly difficult to find! Sadly does not come with its custom inner sleeve.

The cover is holding okay but does have some wear and tear. The front has a nice colour but has a fair amount of creasing around the outer areas along with some wear and slight rounding of corners. There are a couple of tears in the mouth edge that have been repaired in the past with tape it's holding tight but the tape on the inside of the sleeve has browned. Top seam has a few little creases running through it but is holding tight with no wear or splits. The bottom seam is showing a lot more wear and has split in the middle about 3" wide. Spine is looking good with a little wear, more so at the bottom, but is almost fully legible and has no splitting, just some little creases running through it. The back cover has a nice colour, but a fair amount of creasing around the outer areas of the cover, general light wear, some light disc impression and a small tear at the mouth edge that has been repaired in the past with some tape. Overall, showing it's age, but holding okay.   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG+

The playing surface has a really nice, clean shine to it with just a little, light scuffing. I would have graded it EX but there are a couple of little marks worth mentioning: Side 1 at the 5 o'clock position there's a tiny 4mm mark about a third of the way from the outer edge that I can feel under my fingernail. On side 2 at 1 o'clock there's a 1" or so long scuff that, although looking light, is just about feelable under the fingernail.

The side 1 label has some light spindlewear and what appears to be the word 'Wrich' (can't quite make it out) on the left. An EMI sticker has been stuck to the right which has frayed slightly but is still stuck to the label quite tightly. There's some weird green on the label that I'm assuming is someone's attempt to repair a tape scar or something. The side 2 label is much cleaner with just some light spindlewear..
