LARGE FOLDOUT POSTER

  GRADING/CONDITION DISC(s)

EXCELLENT+ (NICE CLEAN records with NO EVIDENT playwear, and indeed 5 sides are mark free, and the only blemish as such is a noticable but light surface mark on Record 1 side 1 which is completely inaudible, and the whole album plays really well with a great STEREO sound and mix) especially the 3rd Jams disc which I have always thought would make a great record on its own ?

LABELS

EXCELLENT+ (CLEAN LABELS with NO writing rips tears stickers/removal marks with MINIMAL spindleusage and MINIMAL handling storage and ageing marks)

BOX

VERY GOOD (LIDDED BOX is in reasonable condition. Complete but a bit careworn and used. The top sheet has had various stickers in its life all of which have been removed with a measure of inexpertise and have left scuffs and paper residue in the top right corner. The lid has clear tape on all 4 corners and some of the black paper is missing on the bottom 2. Apart from that not much else really its all held together quite well the spine lettering is complete but a bit faded, and the inside is clean and unworn.

  INNER /EXTRAS

INNER SLEEVES: EX (ALL 3 inner sleeves are clean and complete with NO writing rips tears stickers etc, some light handling and storage wear, and just one small clear tape repair along the bottom edge of record 2.) ALL 3 records have been transferred to seperate sleeves to preserve this condition.)

POSTER: EX (Clean and complete with no rips tears pinholes major creases in the wrong places and light storage and handling)

  DETAILS

The Quiet one's grand debut and the best Beatles solo record. Released the same year the Beatles officially disbanded, George Harrison's triple album magnum opus is perhaps one of the most stunning records ever produced.

While Harrison had put out two records before this, the soundtrack 'Wonderwall Music' and the moog experiment 'Electronic Sound', 'All Things Must Pass' is Harrison's first true solo album. Recorded with an army of backing musicians, including but not limited to Eric Clapton, former band mate Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Klaus Voorman, the entirety of Badfinger and Peter Frampton, Producer Phil Spector's wall of Sound shines here.

This album has a massive feel to it. A spiritual, overworldly masterpiece. Harrison's religious beliefs are a center focus, with His signature song 'My Sweet Lord' and other tracks like 'Awaiting On You All' and the grand finale 'Hear Me Lord' show his quest for spirituality and reason in the material world. Harrison has mastered the slide guitar here, leading to a countrish folk feel to the record, helped by a heavy Bob Dylan and The Band influence (Dylan also helped write the opening track 'I'd Have You Anytime' and his song 'If Not For You' is covered here).

Tracks are layered with horns, strings and backing vocalists that help solidify the album's bombastic spectacular feel. 'What Is Life', 'Wah-Wah' amen 'Let It Down' are probably the most extreme of these examples, being smothered in Phil Spector's extreme orchestral production. But here, the over the topness fits perfectly. This is no humble album, unlike former Band mate Paul McCartney's debut. This is a piece that's meant to be EXTREME and spectacular.

Yet several tracks are still suprisingly mellow and quaint. The lengthy folk rock masterpiece 'Isn't It A Pity?" Has Harrison mourning over the pain we cause others, and the title track hangs with a sense of regret and longing. It's an emotional rollercoaster of an album, truly a spectacle to behold. It's something that cannot be improved on.

All Things Must Pass is the best Beatles solo album, narrowly beating out Lennon's 'Plastic Ono Band' and McCartney's 'Ram'
