GEORGE LEWIS In Hi-Fi 1956 UK VOGUE - ONCE PLAYED - FLAWLESS SOUND

GEORGE LEWIS
In Hi-Fi

1956 UK VOGUE (LAE 12089) FIRST PRESSING *MONO*
*ONE OF A SMALL COLLECTION OF JAZZ LPs I RECENTLY ACQUIRED WHICH I WILL BE LISTING OVER THE COMING DAYS - ALL IN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING CONDITION

Not to be confused with the avant-garde jazz trombonist, this George Lewis was a clarinetist, one of the last of the 20th century’s original traditional New Orleans performers (he was born in 1900).
Recorded in 1956, ‘In Hi-Fi’ is a choice collection of N’Orleans standards with Lewis backed by a small, trad-style group (trumpet, trombone, banjo, etc.). For those passionate about jazz’s earliest days, In Hi-Fi is a outstanding disc
