This Decca session features the work of George Russell. There are two recording dates, one on December 29, 1959 and the other on January 27, 1960. The personnel is as follows: Ernie Royal, Al Kiger and Marty Markowitz(tp) Frank Rehak, David Baker and Bob Brookmeyer(tb) Jimmy Buffington (fhr) Walt Levinsky and Hal McKusick (as) David Young (ts) Sol Schlinger (bar) Bill Evans (p) and Paul Bley (p) Barry Galbraith (g) and Howard Collins (g) Milt Hinton (b) Don Lamond and Charlie Persip(d) George Russell (arr,dir,beads on tuned drums) SIDE 1: CHROMATIC UNIVERSE (PART 1); DIMENTIONS and CHROMATIC UNIVERSE (PART 2). SIDE 2: THE LYDIOT; WALTZ FROM OUTER SPACE and achromatic universe (part 3). This is a STEREO recording.

I have graded both the vinyl and the record jacket as M- for the following reasons. The vinyl is completely clean of any marks on either side of the LP. There is no sign of wear in or around the spindle hole. The vinyl retains its original luster. The record jacket is in near mint condition, with little to no sign of wear.
