TEZETA (fast version) / TEZETA (slow version) ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by GETACHEW KASSA & THE SHEBELLES BAND. Original  pressing on the AMHA label (AMHA 530), from 1972. Obscure and desirable single by the cult singer with funky backing group. Features the James Brown influenced funk of TEZETA FAST with Getachew's unique vocal delivery and beautiful wordless harmonies. Top rhythm section / looped beats and breaks / funky drums and lovely guitar solo midway. Great for DJs. We have recorded the funky breaks and solos followed by both themes in their entirety. TEZETA SLOW has a much deeper Ethiopian mood with organ and soulful afro latin / bossa-esque riddim. Trippy Mulatu Astatke vibe in there too. Both themes comped on Tezeta - Ethiopian Blues & Ballads CD by Buda Musique and also on the Ethiopian Hit Parade Vol 5 Amha Records ?AELP 60 Lp. Seldom comes up for sale with the original picture sleeve (amazing group shot of The Shebelles Band in action on the back and image of Getachew to the front). Harambee Music Shop Addis Ababa product. Psychedelic splash / multi coloured green vinyl pressed in Greece but common for certain Ethiopian releases of the period. Original 4-prong centre intact. Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in strong VG++ condition with some light scuffs and hairlines. Light surface noises. The delicate paper picture sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with creasing from storage / light corner and edge wear in places. Some faded dirt spots from storage. Very rare 45!!!
