G.F. Fitzgerald - Mouseproof (Uni Germany 1970)

Absolute classic Ladbroke Grove acid psych prog folk mind-melter. Those who were around at the time may remember the evocative and mysterious posters of the sleeve plastered around the underground areas of London at the time of release, but they didn't apparently help with sales as this pretty much disappeared as soon as it was released. There were still pockets of London at the time wanting to further explore the outer reaches of psychedelia and this was one such LP, along with similar stuff like Twink's Think Pink and Hawkwind. This is more varied than those and explores spacey electronics with mellotron and moog through sitar psych to actually quite hummable folk rock, all with a weird druggy edge. Mr Fitzgerald was helped out by several luminaries of the era including Sam Gopal and Judy Dyble. This is a lovely German copy which is a fantastic pressing and unlike UK copies comes in a laminated sleeve.



Grading

Sleeve: VG++ Laminated sleeve is very nice, with only minor wear to corners and slight general ageing.
Record: EX shiny vinyl with few signs of play. There is one visible superficial mark, but it has no effect on the sound, plays near perfect.


Grading

M- As new, no marks of any kind whatsoever.

EX Perhaps a few featherlight whispy marks, but no scratches or deterioration in sound

VG+ Some light marks on the vinyl, but nothing that should cause clicks or pops, just occasional light surface noise.

VG Some heavier marks and maybe a few scratches that will cause some noise, but will still be a very enjoyable listen with definitely no sticks or skips or constant surface noise.
