Description

THIS IS one of the loveliest, most satisfying and mysterious guitar-and-banjo records ever made:  "GHOST DANCE" and "WABASH BLUES," by TRUETT AND GEORGE.  You forget the instrumentation, and are simply swept up in the weird, graceful, slow-cooking music made by these two virtuosi.  The effects achieved by the banjo on "Wabash" are virtually psychedelic.  At first I thought Truett and George were space aliens who fell to earth and lived amongst us humans undetected, only revealing themselves through their music.  They turn out to be a married couple from San Francisco!

This original 1927 Columbia 1182-D is in highly decent E condition - some audible needle wear at the opening of "Wabash" brings it down from E+.

*****

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.”  I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
