GHOST 'When You're Dead - One Second' LP (Italy, Mellotron Records, Catalogue #MLP 001) Brand new/unplayed copy of limited year 2010 Mellotron Records label LP edition (edition of 700 copies only) of SCARCE UK PSYCH ROCK LP from 1970 by Birmingham, England band Ghost. Originally released in the UK in 1970 on the Gemini label.

The Ghost LP is one of the most fabulous UK psych/prog albums. This Birmingham band featured guitarist Paul Eastment, previously in The Velvett Fogg. The album, originally released back in 1970 on the Gemini label in the UK and in 1971 on Exit/Ekipo records in Spain, is one step ahead psychedelia entering the realm of prog music, yet retaining an atmospheric mind expanding feel through it all. Loads of Hammond organ swirls, pyrotechnical guitar licks, beautiful accoustic guitar parts, and above it all killer vocal arrangements, with the special attraction of Shirley Kent's beautiful tone (Shirley would later move on to record the "Fresh Out" LP as Virginia Tree). Top quality remastered sound, an impressing addition to your psych prog collection! Vinyl reissue, limited to 700 copies.
"One of a very small number of obscure uber-collectibles that bears comparison to the giants of the period. Its lack of contemporary recognition is perhaps the result of a slightly dated sound, with its influences lying clearly on the US West Coast in the mid-to-late 60s. Unfortunately, it was released in 1970 into the world of heavy metal and progressive rock. Though Jefferson Airplane is an obvious inspiration, it is by no means a pastiche. The music ranges from driving heavy keyboard led rock, fronted by effective male/female vocals (the title track, 'Too Late To Cry' and 'The Storm') to some genuinely affecting and catchy folk ('In Heaven'). The whimsical 'Time Is My Evening' is weighted by some terrific lead guitar in a similar vein to Trees. There are a couple of curios; the unhinged yet amusing 'Night Of The Warlock' and ambitious 'Indian Maid', awash with Eastern motifs and led by another terrific twin vocal performance. Original copies are extremely hard to find, but a reissue is an absolute must for hippy/acid rock fans." - Giles Hamilton/Galactic Ramble
